How to Play

1. Pick a word category — Animals, Food, Places, Everyday things or Mixed.
2. Look at the blanks. Each dash stands for one letter of the hidden word.
3. Tap a letter on the keyboard, or type it on your own keyboard.
4. A correct letter fills every blank where it belongs. A wrong letter adds one piece to the drawing.
5. Fill in the whole word before six wrong guesses complete the picture.

Rules

You have six wrong guesses in each round. The picture grows in six steps: the swing frame, the ropes and seat, the head, the body, the arms and finally the legs. When the last piece appears, the round is over and the word is shown in red.

Letters you have tried are marked on the keyboard with a tick or a cross and cannot be picked again, so you never lose a life to the same letter twice. A letter that appears more than once, like the three As in PAPAYA, is filled in everywhere at the same time.

In a two-player game there are two rounds. In the first round Player 1 types a secret word and Player 2 guesses it. In the second round they swap jobs. A secret word must use only the letters A to Z and be 3 to 12 letters long. Rude words are refused with a "Pick another word" message. You get one point for each word you crack as the guesser, and the higher score wins. Level scores make it a draw.

Tips & Strategy

• Start with vowels. Almost every English word has an A, E, I or O. Two quick vowel guesses usually reveal the shape of the word.
• Then try the busy consonants. After the vowels, letters such as R, S, T, N and L show up far more often than J, Q, X or Z.
• Use the category. If the topic is Food and the pattern is _ A _ O S A, think of snacks you know — the answer almost guesses itself.
• Count the letters. Long words hide more common letters, so they are often easier than short ones. A three-letter word like YAK is tough because each blank tells you so little.
• When setting a word, be clever, not unfair. Short words with rare letters, like JAZZ or FIZZY, are hard to crack, and they are still real words that a friend could know.

Game Modes

Solo gives you a random word from the category you choose. Mixed pulls from every list, so you never know what is coming. Many words have an Indian flavour, from samosa and jalebi to peacock and Jaipur, which makes them easier to picture.

Play with Friend works on one phone. Whenever the phone has to change hands, the game shows a "pass the device" screen, and the setter is reminded to keep the guesser from looking while typing. Hand the phone over, let your friend type their word, and take it back when it says it is your turn.

Play Online lets two people on different phones set words for each other.

Create a room and share its link or code. When your friend arrives, press Start. The first player types a secret word on their own screen, where only they can see it, and the other player starts guessing as soon as it is locked in. Every letter shows up live on both screens, so the word setter can watch the blanks fill in and the drawing grow. After two rounds the scores are compared and you can ask for a rematch.
